Privacy Policy
Last updated: February 14, 2026
Your privacy matters. Here's how we handle your data at PeekDB.
The short version: We collect only what we need to provide the service. We don't sell your data. We don't use third-party trackers. Your database contents stay yours — we don't store them.
Who We Are
PeekDB is operated by an individual based in Lithuania. For privacy questions, contact us at info@peekdb.com.
What We Collect
Account information
When you sign up, we collect your email address and authentication tokens (from Google or GitHub OAuth). We use this to identify you and manage your account.
Connection metadata
We store information about your database connections: names, hostnames, ports, and usernames. For direct connections, we also store encrypted passwords. For agent connections, your credentials never reach our servers.
Schema cache
We cache your database schema (table names, column names, types) to make the interface faster. This is metadata only — we don't store your actual data.
Usage analytics
We log how you use PeekDB: pages viewed, features used, queries run, and timestamps. This helps us understand usage patterns and improve the product. We log actions (like "viewed table X"), not the actual data you're viewing.
Error logs
When something breaks, we log error details with context to help us debug. These logs may include technical information about your request but not your database contents.
What We Don't Collect
- Your database contents — We query in real-time and display results, but we don't copy or store your actual data
- Third-party tracking — No Google Analytics, no Facebook pixels, no external trackers
- Unnecessary personal info — We don't ask for your name, phone, or address
How We Use Your Data
- Provide the service — Connect to your databases, display data, process queries
- Improve PeekDB — Understand usage patterns, fix bugs, build better features
- Communicate with you — Send important account notifications (not marketing spam)
- Process payments — For Pro subscriptions, via Stripe
Data Retention
- Account data — Kept while your account is active, deleted on account deletion
- Usage logs & analytics — Retained for 30-90 days, then deleted
- Error logs — Retained for 30-90 days, then deleted
- Schema cache — Refreshed on each use, cleared when connection is deleted
Data Sharing
We don't sell your data. We share it only in these cases:
- Stripe — For payment processing (Pro subscriptions). They have their own privacy policy.
- OAuth providers — Google or GitHub, depending on how you sign in. We only receive your email.
- Legal requirements — If required by law or to protect our rights
That's it. No ad networks, no data brokers, no "partners."
Security
- Passwords for direct connections are encrypted at rest
- All traffic is encrypted via HTTPS
- Agent connections keep credentials on your infrastructure
- We follow security best practices, but no system is perfect — use strong passwords and limit database permissions
Your Rights
If you're in the EU (or just care about privacy), you have rights:
- Access — Ask us what data we have about you
- Correction — Fix inaccurate data
- Deletion — Delete your account and associated data
- Export — Get a copy of your data
- Object — Object to certain processing
To exercise these rights, email info@peekdb.com. We'll respond within 30 days.
Cookies
We use essential cookies only — session cookies to keep you logged in. No tracking cookies, no cookie banners needed.
Children
PeekDB is not intended for children under 16. We don't knowingly collect data from children.
Changes
We may update this policy occasionally. Significant changes will be communicated via email or in-app notice.
